Study of Law at the Johann Wolfgang-Goethe's University in Frankfurt am Main; study scholarship of the Italian Ministry of Education and the Arts for a study time at the legal-scientific faculty of the University of Modena/Italy; afterwards thesis and juridical preparatory service for the second juridical state examination; in 1991 licensing, at first active as a syndic's lawyer.

1975 Entry as a Central Bank council z. A. in the main department Law of the German Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main; there responsible among other things for European law, currency law, issuing bank law, bank supervision law and law of the minimum balance requirement; change in the main department Banks of the German Central Bank and there last acting department manager of the department of principle questions of the bank supervision and least reserve.
1990 On own application dismissal from the service of the German Central Bank as a Central Bank manager; entry into the editorial staff of the "Börsen-Zeitung" as head of department credit services sector;
1991 Change to a medium-sized private German commercial bank as a leader of the secretariat of the management,
1996 in addition, head of legal services of the bank, member of the committee on legal affairs of the Association of German Banks.
